Suspension of PCSO Lotto Draws and Operations from March 2020

Manila, Philippines – Following the recently released memorandum from Malaca?ang Palace regarding the Enhanced Community Quarantine all over Luzon to minimize the spread of COVID-19/ Coronavirus, lotto enthusiasts are now asking whether there is a suspension/ postponement of PCSO Lotto draws on March 2020 and April 2020.

In light of the recently released Memo, PCSO has released the new announcement stating the medical and lotto gaming activities will be suspended starting 12:00 noon today, March 17, 2020. Here’s the complete statement from PCSO,

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 922 and RA 11332, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Board of Directors announced the suspension of its medical and gaming activities effective 12:00 noon today March 17, 2020 until further notice:

1. Nationwide suspension of lotto, digit games and Keno operations which include ticket selling and holding of draws.

2. Suspension of STL operations in LUZON only.

3. STL operations in Visayas and Mindanao shall continue but will be evaluated daily.

4. Suspension of Medical Assistance Program in Metro Manila

The amidst apprehension in reneging on its mandate, the PCSO has decided to heed Malaca?ang’s call for Enhanced Community Quarantine. This move will promote safety of its playing public, employees, stakeholders and beneficiaries.

The PCSO has embarked more than 400 million for the medical and rehabilitation needs that may arise from the Novel Corona Virus 2019 Pandamic

On March 13, 2020, after the release of Proclamation no. 922 and 929 s. 2020 in light of COVID-19, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said that they will continue their operations amidst the COVID-19 threat.

To quote the statement from Ms. Royina Garma (PCSO General Manager),

?We will be in full operations but will observe strict safety practices to ensure the health of our office and field staff. We have set in place precautionary steps so we can continue operating with the least risk of exposure to the virus,?

Likewise, the agency is ready to release 424 million pesos to augment the funding of government programs.

To repeat, PCSO has anounced that the lotto draws will be suspended from 12:00 noon March 17, 2020 amidst the new memorandum from the President.

  • Provision of food and essential services regulated
