When is the resume of PCSO Lotto Draw amid the COVID-19?

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has announced on March 17, 2020 the suspension of all lotto draws and medical services beginning 12 noon, March 17, 2020, amid the threat on the spread of COVID-19/Coronavirus.

Lotto enthusiasts are now asking, when is the resume of the PCSO lotto draws?

Update August 6, 2020: PCSO has announced that lotto major games will resume on August 7, 2020 to areas not under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) or ECQ. To quote,

Effective August 7, 2020, the draws and selling of tickets of lotto jackpot bearing games Lotto 6/42, Mega Lotto 6/45, Super Lotto 6/49, Grand Lotto 6/55, Ultra Lotto 6/58 shall resume in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

August 3, 2020: In view of the declaration of President Rodrigo Duterte placing the National Capital Region (NCR), Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan under MECQ from August 4, 2020 to August 18, 2020, PCSO games including lotto, instant sweepstakes and KENO in these areas will be suspended until further notice.

July 20, 2020: Good news everyone! PCSO announced that regular lotto operations will resume on August 4, 2020 at selected lotto outlets and PCSO branches depending on the community quarantine category and LGU’s special concern lockdown (only those under GCQ and MGCQ will resume). Meanwhile, KENO operations and selling of tickets will resume on July 28, 2020.

UPDATES BEFORE JULY 20, 2020

PCSO is very clear that they will inform the public on the resumption of lotto draws “until further notice“. The exact date will be informed as soon as PCSO released the next official announcement.

The cancellation of lotto draws took effect pursuant to Memorandum of the President stating the Enhanced Community Quarantine protocols as well as the Proclamation No. 922 and RA 11332. To quote from official announcement of PCSO,

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 922 and RA 11332, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Board of Directors announced the suspension of its medical and gaming activities effective 12:00 noon today March 17, 2020 until further notice:

1. Nationwide suspension of lotto, digit games and Keno operations which include ticket selling and holding of draws.

2. Suspension of STL operations in LUZON only.

3. STL operations in Visayas and Mindanao shall continue but will be evaluated daily.

4. Suspension of Medical Assistance Program in Metro Manila

The amidst apprehension in reneging on its mandate, the PCSO has decided to heed Malaca?ang’s call for Enhanced Community Quarantine. This move will promote safety of its playing public, employees, stakeholders and beneficiaries.

The PCSO has embarked more than 400 million for the medical and rehabilitation needs that may arise from the Novel Corona Virus 2019 Pandamic
